L7 DDoS protection without handing over your key
To filter HTTPS, many services ask you to upload your certificate together with the private key. The provider then decrypts all visitor traffic on its own nodes, logins and payment forms included. With our anti-DDoS VPS and servers the key stays with you, and L7 floods are filtered without it.
The two numbers in a plan description mean different things. 200 Gbps is the filter capacity: how much junk it can drop before it reaches your server. 1 Gbps is the port of the server itself, which carries your legitimate traffic. Your visitor peak should fit the port with room to spare.

How to check whether a host’s DDoS claims hold up
Protection copy is cheap to write and hard to verify after the fact. Ask any provider these five questions before you pay.
- Is filtering in the base price of the plan you are buying? Or does it show up as a line item only at a higher tier? With us it is part of every plan.
- Is it always on? Or does someone have to activate it after the attack starts? Ours runs continuously.
- What happens to your IP in a large attack? Some hosts null-route the target and take you offline to spare other customers. We filter instead of dropping the address.
- Can you reach a person? Support runs through tickets in the panel and Telegram @netwall_host, with help on setup and on choosing a location.
- Does the acceptable-use policy allow your content? A host that excludes your niche makes its filtering irrelevant. Our Terms list what is prohibited (section 3.3).
Be wary of anyone who promises you will never feel an attack. Volumetric attacks are filtered without any action from you. Application-layer traffic that imitates real visitors is filtered too, but tuning it to your site is joint work between our filtering and your own rate limits and firewall rules.
What stays on the server side
The filter removes the attack before it reaches your server. How the site copes with heavy requests that look like real visitors depends on your configuration, and on a VPS or dedicated server you have full root access. The minimum: a request rate limit with headroom for spikes, page caching for logged-out visitors even for a few seconds, a database and admin panels closed to the outside, and SSH by key. DDoS protection does not stop password guessing or vulnerable plugins; keeping software updated does.

FAQ
Traffic to your server passes through the filter first, which drops the attack before it reaches your server. Only legitimate traffic arrives at the server’s port.
Every VPS and dedicated server here, in all 5 countries (not every plan in every country). The filtering works only on servers rented from netwall.host, so a site that stays at another host does not get it.
Nothing on top of the server price. Traffic is unmetered and filtering is part of the plan, so your bill does not grow in an attack week.
A VPN hides your own address when you browse. It does not filter attack traffic aimed at your server; for that, the protection has to sit in front of the server, as it does here.
We do not cut off the attacked address. Filtering is constant and included in the plan, while many hosts without it null-route the IP and the site goes down for every visitor.
Filtering is the same on both. The difference is resources: under a peak of heavy requests a dedicated server has more memory and CPU headroom. Landing pages and site networks fit a VPS, platforms with a heavy database do better on dedicated.
Open a ticket in the panel or message @netwall_host with the timing, affected URLs or ports and anything odd in your logs. If you are moving from another host mid-attack, contact support before you migrate so the DNS cutover does not add a second window of instability.
