Picture a Saturday derby, eight minutes before kickoff. A sportsbook is taking its heaviest pre-match betting volume of the week when a rival files a copyright complaint against its team-news page and junk requests start piling onto the odds pages. On a generic host the complaint drops into an abuse queue with a reply deadline, and a flood big enough to worry the network can get the server’s IP taken offline until the attack ends. Either way the bettors see an outage, and their stakes go to whichever sportsbook still loads.

Player payments, from card acquiring to crypto gateways and chargebacks, run between you and your payment providers.

A registrar can suspend a domain from its own jurisdiction whatever the hosting. Content that is a crime in the country where your server sits has no protection here, and a court order from that country still applies.
